Title The development and Application of a Novel Hand Rehabilitation Robot

Abstract In this talk, I will present the development of a novel hand rehabilitation robot by our team in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital at Linkou, Taiwan. The rehabilitation robot applies bimanual therapy, an approach that could enhance neuroplasticity in patients with neurological disorders. The steps of product development in terms of the identification of unmet clinical needs, prototyping and clinical application will be discussed. Its clinical value has been demonstrated by enabling patients with weakness in the hand to grasp a variety of objects.
