Evert Jan Hoogerwerf	Title	Making it work: improving Assistive Technology service infrastructure

	Abstract	In many places in the world people who might benefit from it do not have access to assistive technology (AT). But even where assistive products are provided and an assistive technology service delivery exists, potentials are not fully reached. The agenda for action proclaimed by the Bologna Declaration, adopted in 2019 and endorsed by many stakeholders in AT, includes different points that require an investment in the quality of services and the competences of people. In his presentation the author, who is Head of the Regional Centre for Assistive Technology in Bologna, Italy, will examine challenges related to the improvement of AT provision systems and the professional preparation of those that facilitate others to find and use appropriate AT solutions.
